Phew! The move is finally over and we’re officially open. The entire team is on hand to welcome co-workers, passing professionals, startup promoters and anyone who wants to take a look around Le Mabilay!
Moving into these premises was a bit like building a three-tiered rocket that will help us reach the goal we’re working towards with such enthusiasm: enabling local people to move from an idea to a project to a startup, becoming the digital champions of the future!
500 people attended our opening
We showcased all three floors and, following the traditional speeches, the guests explored a wide variety of projects in various stages of development. We welcomed 38 startups during a Flash Expo on our second floor so they were able to present their projects to the public. Of course, the startups from our Startup Hotel located on the third floor, opened their doors as well to talk VR, big data or devices. The format lived up to expectations and promoted lively and friendly discussions.
We also introduced four local gems, each with a French Tech Pass: Ariase Group, Telecom Santé, Dolmen Technologies and SecureIC. The Pass is a program that supports startups in hypergrowth through personalised accompaniment, financial help and visibility.
Space, Design and Innovation
Le Mabilay has a real friendly feel to it, which we hope you will appreciate as much as we do. Emmanuel Couet, president of Rennes Métropole, explained that for La French Tech Rennes St Malo, these premises will be “a confluence of the digital revolution, a place for creation and disruption, a bubbling, effervescent hub.”
We wanted to knock down the walls in this space, both physically and mentally, to create “a living place” as our president Pierre Berthou put it.
At the recent inauguration, a LED ribbon was slashed by a laser sword: a symbolic and unorthodox gesture to ring in a year of triumph and shared success!
